Terms of Service

Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully before using CraveConnect (craveconnect.app). These Terms form a binding agreement between you and CraveConnect ("Company," "we," "us," or "our"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. By signing up, you confirm that you meet this requirement. If you are under 18, you represent that a parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agrees to these Terms on your behalf.
We do not knowingly allow children under 13 to use the Service. If we discover that a user is under 13, we will terminate the account and delete all associated personal data.
CraveConnect is a recipe-discovery platform that lets users swipe on recipes, connect with friends, and play multiplayer food-preference games. We integrate with the Spoonacular API to deliver recipe data and with Stripe for Premium subscription billing.
Premium subscription: A paid subscription ($5/month) unlocks unlimited swipes and personalized recipe filters. Subscriptions are billed monthly and can be cancelled at any time via your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
Free tier: Free users may swipe up to 20 recipes per hour. Recipe filters based on dietary preferences, cuisines, skill level, and cooking time apply only to Premium subscribers.
You are responsible for any content you submit (display names, messages, etc.). You agree not to:
We reserve the right to remove content and suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules, with or without notice.
The CraveConnect name, logo, and interface design are the exclusive property of the Company. Recipe content is provided by Spoonacular under their terms and is subject to Spoonacular's attribution requirements. You may not reproduce, distribute, or commercially exploit any content from the Service without our prior written consent.
Your use of the Service is governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. Please review it carefully — it explains what data we collect, why we collect location data, and how we protect children's privacy.
The Service integrates with Spoonacular (recipe data), Stripe (payments), Supabase (database and auth), and Vercel (hosting). These services have their own terms and privacy policies which govern their use. We are not responsible for the content or practices of these third-party services.
The Service is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without any warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. Recipe information is provided for general informational purposes only and is not a substitute for professional dietary advice.
We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, CraveConnect and its affiliates, officers, and employees shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of your use of, or inability to use, the Service.
Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months prior to the claim or (b) $100 USD.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability, so some of the above may not apply to you.
We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these Terms or for any other reason at our sole discretion. You may delete your account at any time by contacting support@craveconnect.app. Upon deletion, your personal data will be removed within 30 days, except data retained for legal compliance (e.g., billing records).
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. You agree to resolve any disputes with us by first contacting us informally at support@craveconnect.app. If informal resolution fails, disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration in Texas, except that either party may seek injunctive relief in a court of competent jurisdiction.
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the "Last updated" date and, for significant changes, by email or in-app notice. Continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
